The
delicate, late 18th century Chandelier
in the Supper Room of Hall Tavern
{circa 1760} uses reflectors behind the
serpentine candle arms to cast the light of
each flame. The shaft is made like one
of the weights in an early tall clock.
This
exceedingly rare, one-of-a-kind Chandelier was made
during
the early 19th century. It is
a testimony to
the
whimsical
nature and creative genius of
its maker. The
reflectors
seem to be stylized flowers eagerly
turning their
faces towards the light source. An historic reproduction
is also made which is non-electrified.
